Swim Swim - Magical Girl Raising Project Cosplay
She's cute, deadly, and has a really similar body type to me!
Tutorial: How to Make Swim Swim
Wig - Arda Silky Luthien in Carnation. I trimmed the front and used a curling iron and hair spray.
Swimsuit - Ralph Pink's basic swimsuit pattern. I made an inner piece and an outer piece that is slightly shorter and ends at the hip. Then I sewed the 2 pieces together. I also sewed velcro onto the sides as an attachment for the hip piece (mentioned below).
Wings - I cut strips of craft foam and wrapped them around clotheshanger wire with hot glue.
Hip piece - The black tail of the hip piece is made from black gardening hose (Lowe's) with wire running through. The tip is wire sandwiched between craft foam and cardboard for support. The rabbit head is made from black eva foam. Purple craft foam with the decorations done in black craft foam is glued onto the black eva foam. The rabbit head attaches to the black tail via craft foam cement glued onto the eva foam. Industrial strength velcro is used to attach the rabbit head to the swimsuit. Note that regular velcro is sewn onto the swimsuit.
Hair piece - I cut out strips of black craft foam, glued it onto purple craft foam, and glued the purple craft foam onto the black eva foam. There is a hairclip on the other side of the black eva foam for attachment.
Magical phone - I painted craft foam with mod podge and acrylic, and connected the 2 pieces with a decorative nail.
Pon plush - I used Flying Mio's octopus tutorial as a starting point. I used fleece fabric for the round base, and put wire into the tail pieces so that it would be bendable. I put beads inside as a counterweight and polyfil as stuffing.
